Description
This position will support local and worldwide databases, as part of a global team in a 24x7 environment. The successful candidate will provide direct production database management and administrative services for the Oracle databases including software version control, upgrades, migrations and installations. The incumbent will be planning for the future development of the system and anticipate business growth by capacity planning, space allocation and management while monitoring and tuning the databases.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 8 years Oracle DBA experience in a large production environment (500gb or greater).
Experience supporting Oracle 10g/9i in a Unix environment .
Oracle certifications highly desired.
Skilled in database backup and recovery.
Knowledge of high availability methodology.
Skilled in performance tuning of production databases.
Sybase experience highly desired.
