| Assist the Community Relations coordinator in planning and executing community awareness events. This can include contacting community partners to hold the event, identifying venues and supply needs, finding both funding and in-kind donations to meet said needs, conducting promotional activities, and helping coordinate the main event and helping outreach efforts to media and other partners. Essential Position Functions: -Assist in the planning, advertisement, coordination, and staffing of fundraising and special events. -Identify possible donations and facilitate delivery or pick up of donations. -Contact local media as directed for advertisements and press releases. -Assist in grant research and writing -Administrative tasks as needed. -Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: This internship requires strong written and verbal communication skills, candidate must be able to communicate clearly and preferably possess strong computer skills. Must be able to work alone or as part of a team, and critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Experience with special events or media relations preferred, but not required. Candidate must be comfortable in dealing with people of diverse backgrounds. Time commitment: Summer and Fall part time/ full time positions available. Ad provided by Idealist.org |
